Hi all - I am currently 31 weeks pregnant with twins and they are due on my 40th birthday in December! My consultant is aiming for 37 weeks which makes it more mid-November and I wondered if there was anyone with similar dates on here? We are based in North London and I am trying to reach out to similar dated mums to try to establish a bit of community as we enter the unknown!!

thanks so much :) xxx

One twin has IUGR, so we are on close monitoring. They are aiming to leave them in me for a couple more weeks then they will be in NICU until my term date, in December.

Oh gosh that's difficult Flowers. I hope those couple more weeks will make all the difference. I think I remember seeing you on another thread and you were just ahead of me - I'm 27+4 now?

Ds2 was in nicu for a week, and in a way I'm glad I know how it works, so I'm prepared. Have you been for a visit?

I've been having major problems with reflux, started vomiting blood due to the irritation. I'm now on a cocktail of drugs. Anyway, because of the reflux, I think, I've been struggling to put on weight. I think I've only gained 5 or 6 kg since conceiving. So I get really worried before the growth scans (have one on Friday). Last time they were both around the 5th centile, which scares me because both my boys were 9 pounders!

At my last scan one of mine was just a touch above the 5th centile after being on the 20th the scan before that so I'm stressing out about the next scan too, although I'm very aware that the end is in sight now (I'm 33+3) so it wouldn't be terrible to have them now. Ducky and Alice are you doing anything like eating more protein or lying on your side? Have been trying to up my protein a bit but my body isn't too keen on me eating a lot of heavy food. Ducky I hope the meds are helping with your reflux, sounds miserable Flowers

Alice Flowers too it must be very stressful, I guess the advantage of twins is that they keep such a close eye on everything so hopefully they will be able to pinpoint the exact time when your babies are better off coming out. my DD1 was born unexpectedly very tiny (0.3 centile) and no one had any idea that she hadn't been growing - am sure if she'd been a twin they would have delivered her early - she's a strapping thing now though Smile

Thanks for good thoughts everyone. Ducky, I'm a week ahead of you. Snowsuit, no one has said anything about eating more protein or lying on my side. The only advice I've had is to rest, which is difficult when pregnancy insomnia has kicked in with a vengeance (am exhausted from not sleeping properly at night).

How's it going, Alicekeach?

Sorry, only just backnon this thread. I developed severe pre eclampsia so ended up having the twins by EMCS at 29 weeks. They are in NICU but, so far, seem to be doing fine. I am expressing for them but struggling to produce enough breast milk. I am getting conflicting advice - some nurses say to relax and not obsess about it whereas others say I should be expressing every hour to try and get my supply up.
