I'm 27 weeks with non ID twins. Hospital has just given me two steroid injections as a precaution in case I go into premature labour (no sign of that at the mo). They also plan to give me another two at 35 weeks.

Why do I have to have two sets of injections 7 weeks apart? I thought you only needed one lot to help the lungs?

No ideally you need two sets. I had injections at 33 weeks as they thought they were going to have to perform a c-section as my waters had broken then they gave me another injection 24 hours later. As it turned out DS hung on until 37 weeks.

No, I understand that you need two injections, what i don't get is why do I need a total of two sets of two seven weeks apart?

that is very strange, I was never offered that. I'm wondering if it is really necessary if there are no signs of you going into labour?

I think it is just a pre-caution, to be on the safe side as my previous obstectric history has been poor/bad.
