I had a private scan which confirmed no heart beat. I am going to hospital tomorrow for another scan to confirm.
Will I be given tablets to help remove the fetus, will I stay in hospital? I was measuring at 8 weeks if that makes any difference

Could anyone please confirm

Sorry to hear this. Did the private company do an abdominal ultrasound or vaginal? I had a private scan at 8 weeks with a private company who told me the same thing, they only did an abdominal scan. I had a transvaginal the next day at the EPU which did find a heartbeat (although I did later miscarry and I was measuring small). Could you be out slightly with your dates? When I did go on to miscarry I had the choice of medical or surgical management. There is lots of advice on both on these boards. Look after yourself.

@Polkadotdelight thank you for your reply. I'm sorry to hear you had conflicting scans, and sorry for your loss.

She did both scans. I should have been 9 weeks 3 days going off the day of my last period. I was scanned at EPU at 6 weeks 1day, because of previous miscarriages. Heartbeat was visible but they noticed some blood behind baby.
I guess I am hoping with medical management it will all come away together given I was 8 weeks.

@Guest1233 I'm so sorry. Have you had medical management before? I only had the one before having DS but it sounds like they will have to start investigating for a cause for you.

@Polkadotdelight No I had a surgical one last time because I was lost so much blood the midwives where shocked. They estimated I was at least 200ml of blood from my body going into shock, due to how much I lost in hospital. They said after that there was some fetus left over which ment there was still constant blood flow. The clots where as big as my hand. It was the worst thing ever, but I was looked after really well.

I hope they do, i do feel its because of the contraceptive injection i was on for 6 years. I have read up so much but unfortunately their is little academic research on the matter. I have children and so does my partner so alittle unsure what else could be the cause.
