Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

When to start trying again?

Hi all,
Last week I lost my baby 7+4 after TTC for almost a year.
Obviously me and my partner are devastated but are so eager to start trying again and have read I can be ovulating as quick as 2 weeks time! I just wondered how many of you have conceived again almost immediately after a MC and had a healthy baby?.
I do not want this to be a danger to any future baby however waiting for my cycle seems so far away!
Should I or shouldn't I?

I would wait until you have one period first - reason being you need time for your uterus to heal and lining to recover to be able to support another pregnancy.....lots of people on here will tell you they got pregnant within 2 weeks without waiting for a period however I didn't wait and ended up with an ectopic pregnancy and lost my tube as miscarriage had caused build up of fluid

Sorry for your loss 😔. I conceived 4 months after my first miscarriage and gave birth to a healthy little boy 😊

Firstly I'm so sorry for your loss.

I was told by the epu to wait 3 weeks before I start trying to conceive again. However the GP said I could start trying again straight away and the epu just said 3 weeks as it's easier to calculate due dates etc. My miscarriage was almost two weeks ago and I'm still in a little pain, it would seem crazy to me to attempt to start trying until I'm fully healed.

I guess what I'm saying is you know your own body and whether you feel you still need some time to recover.

I would wait for one period I think. I had a d&c and my sister (a midwife) advised me to ignore the advice I got to wait 3 months and go for it. I did and got pregnant immediately (had been ttc for more than a year before the first miscarriage). good luck OP.

I was advised at my local EPU that it's better to wait until you have a period to start TTC again to let your body recover and also because it can be really confusing with dating the first day of your last period.

If your ready I don't see why you shouldn't start as soon as you wish. It's a hard time and Ive found it gives me a focus and I'm looking to the future again and not mourning the past as much. I've already started trying again and my d&c was two weeks ago. As long as you've stopped bleeding I was advised it was fine to start again .

I had a miscarriage on Sunday at 6 weeks, the doctor told me they say to wait for your first AF as it makes it easier for dates, but we could start trying again straight away once I've stopped bleeding if we wanted to.
I agree waiting for the first cycle seems so far away so think I do want to start trying again, but at the same time very nervous about this happening again.
