“Abnormal” gestation sack, no yolk or fetal pole

Hi, I’m just wondering if anyone has been advised that they had an “abnormal” gestation sack, mine sadly was almost sausage shaped with nothing in it. I was 5wk 2 days on Wednesday, going back on Wednesday coming for a re-scan - was advised to let nature take its course. I had one bit of bleeding, nothing heavy and then it stopped after less than an hour. I do have period cramps on an off but still no bleeding. Has anyone had similar? I’m scared I’m going to go on Wednesday and there is still nothing there but I’m just sadly retaining the miscarriage. Thanks
