Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Trying to conceive after miscarriage

Hi all,
I very recently suffered from a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks and had to have an ERPC procedure.
As it was my first pregnancy the whole experience has been completely new to me and I seem to have so many questions-some of which naturally cannot be answered and some which have been but I am still unsure about...
At the moment I am mainly wondering when people have been told they are able to try to conceive again as I have been told 3 different timescales so far! I suppose I don't want to put myself at risk of another miscarriage despite being told there was seemingly nothing to cause this one, just "one of those things".
Thank you in advance x

If you go to the tommy’s website they have not long release an article on the best time to start conceiving after a miscarriage. It’s been researched but isn’t a difficult read. Really sorry for you loss xxxx

I'm really sorry. After my first miscarriage I fell pregnant about 4 months later but I can't honestly remember when we started trying. Unfortunately that pregnancy ended in an early miscarriage too but but I fell pregnant with DD about 6 weeks later. So from my experience the amount of time you leave it has very little impact.

I was told by one of the experts at the Coventry miscarriage clinic that there's no need to wait at all - not even for one period - if you don't want to.

I had a mmc and ERPC and tried again straight away as just desperately wanted to be pregnant. Fell pregnant a few months later but had a very early miscarriage, but then fell pregnant again that cycle (so no 'normal' period in between) and now have a lovely DS. I think you can just try whenever you're ready Flowers

I was told very recently that you can try straight away if you feel emotionally ready. The advice of waiting one month was just for dating purposes but they can estimate the date from the scans anyway. As long as the scans show that everything internally is as it should be, you can go ahead x

Hi. Very sorry about your loss. I had a miscarriage just over 3 weeks ago. I was told to wait for 2 regular cycles to try again. Also told if I was to get pregnant before that there is a another chance of miscarriage.

So sorry for your loss.
I had a mmc in may last year and conceived our dd in July. My periods returned exactly 4 weeks after the mmc and it took 2 cycles for me to conceive again.
I had a very anxious pregnancy due to our loss, but dd is here and healthy.
Best wishes to you.

@Bwe123

I had a MMC in summer 2016- we started TTC again as soon as I got a BFN- around 3 weeks after medical management and when I stopped bleeding.

I don't think there is anything to stop you TTC whenever you're ready. Dating scans are very accurate especially at the 12 week or so stage (so I've heard)

As soon as we got the bad news at the dating scan, I was desperate to conceive again as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be happening and we're 15 months TTC now, I'm still desperate to be pregnant but also very sad and coming to realise that it may not happen for us again.

Sorry for your loss Flowers

Hi everybody,it took me a while to find the courage to post after my horrendous experience with my first pregnancy.
I am 29 ,I have an amazing boyfriend and we really want a baby .
I got pregnant in April this year, but on my 12w scan the doctor told us baby had ancephaly and had no chance of surviving.
My whole world crashed in 10 seconds, could not stop crying and crying.I felt so guilty,i still think it is my fault despite what doctors say.
I had the termination 3 days later.
Never felt such pain in my life, emotional and physical.
We are now trying again ,I am on 5mg folic acid to prevent such things happening again.
I was taking 400mcg which is the recomended dose during my pregnancy but apparently wasn't enough.
I just wanted to ask if anyone else has had a similar or same diagnosis and if they were able to have healthy babies.
Thank you in advance for your responses and I feel for every single woman who has lost a baby.I believe we will all get there😊

Hi. I just experienced my first loss - a MMC followed by a D&C three weeks ago. I went back for my two week check up last week and the doctor said that we could start trying as soon as we felt ready. Fingers crossed for us all x

@anibani4ka I'm sorry to hear of your experience, I'm pleased you've posted though as I have found being able to speak to people that have been in similar situations really helpful.
Also because everyone is 'unknown' you are able to post without worrying about anything you say not remaining in confidence.
@Niketan I've spoken to my doctor and they said that we could start trying too - it's all I seem to be focusing on and do worry that if I doesn't happen in a few months I may really struggle

Hi Bwe123,I am 8 weeks pregnant and so happy ,I won't relax untill baby is in my hands ,but for now it all looks well.
We had an early scan at 7 weeks(private)and the doctor only saw the heartbeat and the little sac,for any abnormalities he told us to wait till 11-12 weeks. Thanks so much for asking and I wish you a very happy Christmas Xmas Biscuit
