Hey ladies....

I am just about to undergo my 7th IVF cycle. The 1st five were total fails and I got pregnant on my 6th but devastatingly miscarried at 7 weeks about 6 months ago.

One of my best friends gave birth a few months ago and didnt even tell me. My other best friend has told me she is pregnant today. Dont get me wrong I am so happy for them but more than that I am sad for me and my husband and actually my whole family.

I know it isnt my fault but I feel so damned guilty not being able to bring a baby into this family.

We are roughly £30,000 down on this "adventure" and Im terrified that this next cycle wont't work and it's our last embryo. The 5th fresh cycle we were planning on freezing all but I had a call to say that none of our embryos were good enough so I had to have a fresh transfer but miraculously the next day I had a call to say that 2 of them had turned into fantastic quality and we froze them. It was the only time we've ever had any to freeze. I transferred 1 in February and I m/c in March after 2 weeks of bleeding and seeing the heartbeat the day before it happened.

I have no tubes so unfortunately can't try naturally.

I have just found a clinic near me that does blood tests for recurrent implantation failure, is it worth a go?

Lots of love and strength to you all xxxxxx

kloodie, I'm sorry I can't answer your question but I just wanted to send you big hugs and say I'm thinking of you x

Thank you so much, I decided to go ahead with the tests and have a consultation booked for 2 weeks time. It means postponing my cycle which I'd got myself all geared up for but I guess I need too xx

Sounds like a good idea. Hope the tests go well for you xx

Hi kloodie Sorry to hear how much you've been through. My first IVF failed, second was a mc at 6 weeks and will be doing #3 in a few months. We've never had any to freeze. My dr said there is evidence the endometrial scratch helps in cases of multiple implantation failure. Have you tried that? I'd definitely do the blood tests to see if it can shed any light on why your embryos don't want to stick.

Hi Bluebird,

I'm sorry to see your also going through this. Ivf is such a tough ride isn't it? Yeah we've had the scratch 5 out of 6 times. My dr has prescribed steroids and heparin as a precaution but I'm starting to worry that they may be hindering rather than helping me so I'm hoping these blood tests will answer that question for me. I don't think there is anything we haven't tried yet apart from pgs testing but it's so expensive.

What is the reason for you doing ivf if you don't mind me asking xx

That's a shame the scratch hasn't worked. I had it the first round as part of a trial but didn't work for me either. Sad

We have MFI - too low count so it's unlikely we'll ever conceive naturally. And after 2.5 years of trying I think it will only happen with IVF, well ICSI actually in our case.
