Help tmi

I've been bleeding all week and passed some clots but the bleeding suddenly slowed down and I hadn't passed the sac i was around 8 weeks. So I checked my cervix (sorry tmi) and there's a large clot stuck at the opening and my cervix is open. It's been like this for 2 days now. What should I do?

I would call 111 and ask their advice.

Oh sweetpea you need to call your midwife! Or even better call the maternity ward at your local hospital, I would do it now as you risk getting an infection and things can go downhill fast if that happens! My thoughts are with you Flowers

I was hoping it would pass by itself. I'll ring gp in the morning hopefully I can get an appointment.

I know- it would be easier if that happened. I ended up in hospital with both of my miscarriages due to stubborn tissue so I really feel for you Sad how are you this morning has anything changed?

Nothing's changed Sad can't even get into gps. I can't go into hospital. I have 2dcs and I don't want to leave them. One things for sure I'm not putting myself through this again for a while. It's happened and I just want it to be over and get back to normal. Should I ring 111 would they be able to get me an appointment at the epu. I haven't got a midwife to refer me.

I see, yes call 111 going to the doctors is possibly pointless anyway as its the hospital you need to be, let me know what they say. Yes I can understand that Sad it's not an easy process in the slightest Flowers

Sorry for your loss.
You do need to get yourself checked out though.
Some epu allow self referral. Check the hospital for your area. If no self referral allowed, 111 should be able to advise. 111 will triage you and hopefully you'll get an appointment.
Sometimes, you may need medical assistance to help you pass the sac.
Do let us know how you get on

Bit of and update. I phoned 111 and they said I need to be seen today and to go to the hospital urgent care centre. So I'm going to pick up dd and go straight there.

Ah well that's a relief- I'm so glad you're being seen with the urgency this requires! It's hard when you've got kids to look after as well I had a recent two week stint in hospital my poor DS was passed around the family like a rag doll Sad but remember your health is a priority Flowers good luck x

No luckily :) the first one was a trip to a&e because I lost so much blood I was all weak and dizzy but my obs were normal so just got sent home, lost it all without aid. The second one it wouldn't come out on its own so I went in for the medical management (tablets popped in to open the cervix) and spent the day in a private room cramping and losing everything. Went home and actually it went awful because I passed the baby and placenta in hospital but kept bleeding and cramping and having clots come out and actually had retained a lot of tissue so ended up having a D&C a few weeks later. But again it was just day surgery so no overnights needed X
