Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Is it possible to have an ectopic (or other?) pregnancy without a positive test?

... Had a light period 2 weeks ago, and since then have had endless 'period' like cramps, dizziness, exhaustion, frequent fast heartbeat, huge sore breasts, sore right shoulder for some reason - but negative tests.

Really worried about this since I had a (self-resolving but terrifying) ecoptic a few years ago. Does anyone know or am I just being a bit of a drama queen?

It is possible but it's very rare (see the BUPA website: www.bupa.co.uk/health-information/directory/e/ectopic-pregnancy). It's probably a good idea to see your GP anyway - you've been through something very difficult so nobody could ever accuse you of being a drama queen. Hope it all turns out to be okay - I'm sure it will, but I think you're very sensible to get it checked out.

Best to consult a GP. I wouldn't think it is possible to have negative tests because there would be a certain level of pregnancy hormone present if pregnant- unless it is very early in your pregnancy.

Thank you both - it's really reassuring that it's rare.

I hate going to the GP - I bothered them so much last year over a few of the mcs, but will give them a call.

Thanks again Flowers
