It's been a month since my miscarriage (13 weeks measuring 11+2) and I got my first period yesterday.

It's really, really heavy. Is that normal? I've sat down most of the day, as when I stand up I feel it pouring out.
I lost 2 1/2 - 3 litres of blood during my miscarriage and am very anaemic and on iron tablets Feeling weak and frustrated all my efforts to get my iron levels up are being ruined fast!

Can anyone tell me what your first period was like?

Sorry for your loss Snowflake. My first period after both losses was so heavy I couldn't leave the house for a day or two. On the first night I had to lay on a towel in bed. It just poured out. Really grim. They seem to have got slightly lighter month-by-month since though.

My first was actallu very light, i wouldnt have needed more than a panty liner. The second was normal flow but lasted almost two weeks.

If youre soaking a pad per hour i think you need medical attention Flowers

So sorry for your loss OP. After my mmc at 9 weeks my first period was incredibly heavy too, they went back to normal after that though

People seem to have varied experiences. Mine was pretty normal but I had excruciating cramps two days before it started.

I had a very heavy period afte my miscarriage too. I got a terrible pain and then it just poured out, soaked through my jeans. I passed clots too. Sorry, TMI perhaps. I felt awful and weak for a day or two but it slowed down after that. I felt very dizzy but I think that was panic attacks and anxiety.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Look after yourself and seek medical attention if you think even slightly it might be necessary, you are not wasting anyone's time. Be kind to yourself Flowers
