Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Miscarriage and sickness?

I was almost 6 weeks pregnant following IVF I had a bleed last Thursday, my HCG was done and it was 11296, the bleeding almost stopped and had my second HCG on Monday it read 29445, all sounded promising. No sooner had I put the phone down to the fertility clinic the bleeding started, this is probably TMI but it was just dripping out, lots of clots and cramps. We called the clinic and they told us to get to A&E where it was confirmed that there was nothing in my uterus, they only did a tummy scan.

I am due to go to the clinic for a vaginal ultra sound tomorrow.

I realise this post has gotten quite long when really all I wondered is how other people have felt after a miscarriage. I am still bleeding but very light, I am extremely tired have slept most of the day, I have a headache and feel really sick...is this normal?

I'm sorry you've lost your - what was obviously a much wanted - baby. Flowers

I've had two MC's but neither occurred naturally so no precise experience of what you are going through. But certainly after surgical management you are expected to bleed for around 10 days - getting lighter in volume but darker in colour by the end.

But your body has been through a lot so it doesn't surprise me that you're tired / headachy. But if you continue to have concerns in the morning there's no harm calling your GP.

But in the meantime take care of yourself - it's a difficult time.

hello ringo,

sorry to hear you have been through this especially after IVF :(

I had Medical Management for my MC (which was already spotting) so not exactly the same as your situation but it was really tiring. Had bad headache, didn't want food, kept sleeping and was white as a sheet.

Not sure if you have experienced it but I also seemed to keep getting panic attackes with the crying which was also making me exhausted and feeling sick.

As Forester said maybe ask your GP if your still worried? take care, its a really tough time for you and im sorry for your loss xx

Thank you for your very kind words, I have taken some comfort from your words.

We are at the fertility clinic tomorrow AM so will have more answers, I hoping they will check everything has gone and say how I'm feeling is normal in the physical sense of things.

I have been crying lots as you can imagine but not panic attacks, I hope you are better with those now chosenbyyou.

The IVF has been so hard, we needed donor eggs so I have all sorts of failure feelings at the moment. We have 2 more embies on ice so trying to remain positive x

We went for our scan and review today and guess what? There was a tiny heartbeat! Yes you read it correctly, Care said it was possible we were carrying twins and one miscarried. We are over the moon but still in shock!

Ringo that's brilliant. You must have such conflicting feelings at the moment and at some point you will probably need to grieve the loss of a twin but at the moment put all your effort into willing that little bean to hang in there.

It all change again, I started bleeding again last night another trip to the infertility clinic Care and they have confirmed that I have miscarried the other embryo.

I can't believe the times we have been given positive news only for it to be snatched away moments or hours later.
