I'm supposed to be 8+1 but started bleeding a bit yesterday. This evening it's been heavy with cramping pain and backache. I've just been to change my pad and felt something come out of me. On the pad was a lump of blood and whitish looking bits- is this the baby? Will the pain start to ease off a bit now? It's bloody agony and paracetamol hasn't helped.

I am so sorry. I'm afraid I don't know. The baby would be very very small at this stage - no longer than a centimetre or so. Probably much less.

I wish I could make you feel better x

I'm too scared to go to the toilet in case more comes out. This is horrible.
DP is being brilliant. I have work tomorrow and hadn't told anybody about the pregnancy so luckily it won't be brought up there.
I had honestly never realised before just how hard this is.
Sad

You poor poor thing. From my very limited knowledge, it does sound like that would have been 'it' iyswim. And I have read that it hurts a bit less once you have passed the embryo. Sad

I'm really sorry. It must be hellish.

Really, really sorry. I've had 4 m/c all under 12 weeks and all were like very heavy periods with large clots. It is very upsetting for you, but I'm afraid if you are going to lose the baby at this point nothing can stop it. Avoiding the toilet just won't work. I would certainly take the day off tomorrow as you can't possibly carry on as though nothing has happened. I consoled myself (slightly) with the thought that a very early miscarriage meant that there were serious abnormalities with the baby and that the pregnancy was not viable. I know that's of very little help to you and you do have all my sympathy. Sad

It's hard to say what it could be I'm so sorry you are going through this. Try and be strong I know it's difficult, the people on here are very supportive I have found that a big help

Sorry To hear this. I had a mc a few years ago and similar happened too. It's likely the sac coming apart as the pregnancy would have been too small to recognise. The sac can be quite large at that stage so you should get scanned by your early pregnancy unit to ensure everything is fine - if it is a miscarriage any retained products can lead to prolonged bleeding and infection (sorry I know I'm being very detailed but i ended up needing antibiotics)

Rest for now but def avoid work as it could go on for several days sadly
:(

Thank you. I've been to the toilet and more clots are coming out. The pain isn't easing up yet though but I have some codeine in the medicine cupboard I might try.

Will have to think of an excuse for work. MIL is my boss and we are short staffed. Also reluctant to tell her about this as she had a stillbirth many years ago and things like this bring it all back up for her.

I wouldn't think up excuse. If you have to can you not say that you have a serious stomach upset at least? That would cover you for looking/feeling ill and no one would expect you to work if you have sickness/diarrhoea bug. I think you need to focus on your own feelings and not worry about MIL.

I think I'll just say I'm having stomach problems. I work in a nursery so if I'm in pain and bleeding this much tomorrow I won't be able to concentrate on work anyway and having got through 5 pads in 3 hours I won't be able to hide something
Like that tomorrow from other staff members.

My reply may be too late to help you but it may have been the baby - it is very very tiny at 8 weeks though. I m/c'd two weeks ago at 11 weeks and definitely saw the foetus - its head was the size of a hazelnut and its eyes were very distinct black dots. It's not a nice feeling at all. I am so sorry for your loss.
