Miscarriage/pregnancy loss

Think I'm having a miscarriage, what do I do?

I am nearly 6 weeks pregnant, and woke up in the middle of the night tonight with painful cramping, and fresh blood on my pants. Am of course expecting the worst. I need to know what to do. Should I wait it out a few days? What happens if the cramping pain gets worse?
My husband is away another 24 hours for work, and I have a 1 year old. Should I go to A&E and drag DD along or should I wait for DH to return before going to A&E? Should I call my GP first?
Any advice on what I should expect would be appreciated

I'm sorry, when I had my miscarriages I was told that if the bleeding wasn't too heavy (no more that a pad every 2 hrs continually) and the pain manageable it was something that will just take its own course.

I think I'd go to see someone in the morning!

So sorry Sad I've had 3 mc's so I know how you are feeling. Call your local hospital in the morning & get an appt with the EPU for a scan.

Use a pad tonight. If you are soaking through more than one an hour you need to go to a&e.

Hugs.

So sorry OP, I have been through 7 mcs and each one just took it's course naturally. I'd call in the morning so they can check you out, also so they can see you were pregnant which will help with getting help in the future if it recurs and you need help.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I'm sorry to hear of your MC's :(

Bleeding has subsided and we are going into EPU first thing tomorrow. Will update again

Hi Everyone, thanks again for your support. Had a confirmed mc, at 7 weeks. Feel accepting of it though, and ready to heal from this and move on. Thanks again everyone for your comments and support!

Really sorry to hear that Jessi. Am glad you got it confirmed though as if further down the line you do have problems, they will only start investigating why once you have had 3 confirmed MCs. Am hoping that you have a BFP soon and never have to walk that road.

Put your feet up, look after yourself and I hope you feel better soon. xx

Sorry to hear it Jessi, take your time to heal and deal. All the best for a sticky BFP soon
