have i miscarried?

Im 12 weeks tomorrow, this is my third pregnancy.
Started to bleed tonight, quite heavy at first, then passed a clot bigger than a 50p. Bleeding then stopped, two hours later it has started again but not heavy. Have period type pain with backache, no cramps.

Rang the hospital who advised me to come in to A&E tonight or tomorrow to be checked over, however she wasn't sure if EPU is open at the weekend.

Really want to try and wait until the morning as i have young children in bed and DF is off to work soon for the night.

Anyone had similar? Any advice greatly received.

Get to the hospital as soon as you can. Can you get someone to look after the DCs for you?

BTW, I suffered bleeds a few times during my pregnacy and it was OK.
Good Luck.

Thanks Dione
I couldn't get anyone to look after DC's, no parents around and friends/family don't know yet.

Did go to A&E today though, they took BP and pulse and sent me over to see see a doc who examined me and ruled out an eptopic pregnancy.

They advised me to go home and rest.

They would not scan me. EPU not open until Tuesday but i've got my 12 weeek nucal/dating scan booked for Wednesday so have no choice but to wait until then.

Bleeding has stopped or there is a tiny bit when i wipe.

Fingers crossed all will be ok.

sorry you're going through this, you must be very scared

There is lots of reasons why you would bleed, and most of them cause no harm to baby

Please just try to rest up, and good luck with the scan today

I had what I thought was a miscarriage, turned out it was an "implantation bleed". Then spent weeks of my pregnancy thinking I wasn't pregnant. Then by the time I went back to the doctor to investigate what I thought was a new pregnancy I discovered I was still pregnant and much further on than I thought. This is why I don't go along with the old adage "Women know!" because I sure as heck didn't. Good luck, hope it's good news.
