Faint hpt??

Not sure where to post so hope it's ok to ask on here?.

Had faint positives before AF due and now 3 days later they are still faint? did do a clearblue digital, that came up pregnant 1-2 weeks. So confused as I thought the lines would get darker as hormones rise? temps are still high also?

Had MC in May and chemical last month, so thinking that maybe this is heading that way also?.

Has anybody else had this? and how did things work out?.

Any advice or experiences? good or bad would be really appreciated, as driving myself mad! X

The colour doesn't necessarily vary with progression. On the cheap strips I was using post two miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy it didn't get darker. A little obsessive but I tested most days for several weeks. 3 scans and now 21 weeks pregnant its sinking in its progressing this time.

Congratulations - take your folic acid, take things one day at a time and I really hope it works out for you this time.

You can request your GP monitor your HCG (hormone) levels by blood test - some appear happier to do this than others. Our local hospital offer a 7 week scan if you have a history of issues or any bleeding.

Same thing is happening to me so will be watching this!!!

The faintness of the line has nothing to do with the pregnancy and everything to do with the limitations of the test.

You are pregnant. There is nothing an hpt can tell you beyond that fact. Some people (me included) never have anything but faint lines regardless of the viability or duration of pregnancy.

I tested positive when pregnant with dd at 9dpo. The line was so faint you could hardly see it. I did a test a week until my 12 week scan (I was paranoid) and the line did not get darker at all.

She is 3 years old now and I had a healthy, happy, normal pregnancy. Smile

Oh ltg good luck, maybe we should check in with each other!! I had a mmc but also have a 3 year old daughter. Both previous pregnancies the HPT showed up darker but hey ho.

Lots of luck and stickiness for all both xx

Yes Wobble good idea!!! I have two DC DD 7 and DS 5, MC in May and chemical in AugustSad...

Keeping everything crossed that it's ok for us this time?...have been looking on internet at various forums and sites regarding weaker lines and the advice is sooo conflicting Hmm...Not sure it was a wise thing to do! there is always good and bad when you start digging.

Having bloods checked on Tuesday, how about you? xx

I think I will speak to GP tomorrow. Yes I noticed there are different things on the Internet, some of which I don't like!! I certainly feel pregnant. Don't dare do a digital one-probably won't bother doing anymore tests-I get too nervous!

Yeah best to speak to GP, thankfully mine is being really good, so if the worst happens I know he's glad to investigate me and DP more regarding fertility.

I'm clinging to the fact that the digital one was positive! but also read that they give positives with a small amount of hgc??? so my theory of digital taking away all doubt may not be true?!!.

I also feel pregnant, but my boobs are sore on and offHmm? so keep poking them to check.

It's not like I can compare symptoms to my other pregnancies as I'm so scared! everything I feel worries me...such a shame losses take away the innocence of what should be a wondeful experience XX

I know, I think the same. Keep trying to imagine how I would fell if I hadn't had my mmc. Trouble with that was I still felt very pregnant even though the HB hadn't developed. We just have to try and think positive and not look into things too much. Sore boobs being on and off I think is normal. No pain stays at a consistent level for a period of time, it always varies. First thing my boobs are bad but later calm down a bit. Then at night when I take my bra off-ouch!!

Yes thank god for good GP's-mine is terrific too Smile

Good luck xxxxxx

Hiya,

I got cheapie tests from local shop and they were faint at first, but did get darker but then i got a different brandand that was super faint!!
I'm 9 weeks now and the original ones are really dark now, but some brands stay very light and never get darker - maybe you have one of those?

Sorry ljg72 not good news from me, started bleeding a while ago, just like a late period. Really hope you are ok, sure you will be, I really believe that it doesn't make any difference about how dark the lines are. Best of luck xxxxxxxxxxxx

I think in theory they should get darker different brands will vary with the sensitivity of the test as to the darkness of the line. Also the concentration of the urine being tested will vary depending on when you collect it and how much you've drank beforehand.

Yep GP was fantastic. Is doing some bloods for me despite me only having had2 mcs and not 3. He said he thought it would reassure me. I'm very anxious when pregnant and he suggested counselling when next time comes xx

Glad you have a good GP, I'm also having bloods tomorrow and the following Tuesday...he booked them in advance incase of mc...hasn't happened yet! but got a horrible feeling it will any day.
I think we have intuition when it comes to pregnancy, and this afternoon I just don't feel pregnant anymore? if that makes sense? even my boobs have deflated! poas again tonight!!!! it's super faint now! but I have drank gallons of water today?Hmm.

Sorry for going on! not what you need at all, sorrySad...counselling sounds like it may help...hopefully next time you will be less anxious...so hard tho hey! sending hugs XX

Na nothing really...had bloods taken today, can ring for results Thursday afternoon, not that I will know what they mean?Hmm.

No longer feel pregnant at all! boobs like deflated ballons, lower back ache and low cramps (like AF) so just waitingConfused.
Not sure what to do if it happens? not much can be done especially as I'm only 5 weeks? doubt I will even be scanned as nothing to see at this stage?...last time it happened it was a Saturday and EPU don't do weekendsAngry

Anyway how are you doing? I hope the bleeding has settled down? I find that the worst thing about mc..seeing the amount you lose (sorry a bit tmi I know)...sending hugs xx
