Pelvic/lower abdominal aches at start of menopause?

I'm 52 but up until now periods have been regular although a bit heavier than previously. For the past few months I've had dull aches low down almost like period pains. My period is usually every 30 days but it's now a few weeks late which I'm assuming is maybe the start of the menopause. Just wondering if the dull pain is related.

It's really common to get period type pains at the times when you expect a bleed but it doesn't come. They are called phantom periods :)

Obviously if you feel worse and there are other things going on too, see your GP but from what you say, it sounds normal.
