Can't help noticing that I'm repeating myself a lot here so to avoid boring anyone, here are the guidelines from NICE.

These were written by a large team of experts including consultants working at menopause clinics/ NHS and private consultants who are at the top of their game in the world of menopause .
It's really worth reading the report because although each item says something like 'Explain to women...' it's easy enough to understand what is being explained!
The advice includes blood tests and when they should or should not be used, some evidence on the efficacy of alternative treatments, when HRT can be started etc and the risks.
I also left a link about 6 threads down now from the RCOG which is a really good guide to what alternative treatments might work and which are a waste of money or even dangerous.
