I've assumed myself to be peri- for about 6 years now. Started with night sweats, anxiety, tummy weight gain and so on. Since then my periods have been fairly regular, although cycle is definitely getting longer.
I haven't experienced what I believe to be a hot flush, although my internal thermostat appears to have gone very wonky, I often feel too hot or too cold.
Yesterday, for the first time I had what I think were two hot flushes. They weren't as extreme as I've read about, but still unpleasant.
To get to the point. I'm now 54, does anyone think the hot flushes may be a signal that periods will stop soon or is this just the start of more symptoms and a few years of misery? I feel like it should be stopped now at my age.
