I know you're not supposed to, but not sure why? Presume it afffects the hormones?
But I'm coming off Citalopram and was wanted to maybe try a natural mood lifter.
TIA.

Well, not too sure, but I know you can't take the contraceptive pill whilst on St. Johns Wort (or vice versa lol) ad it stops the pill working. So maybe the same reason?

There IS information online if you google carefully :)
I think it says that St JW intensifies the action of hormones.

Have you tried exercise? Studies show that 30 mins of brisk walking a day ideally somewhere 'green' is as effective as anti depressants.

I would think intensifying the hormones would be good surely as you could take less of them to greater effect?

Some of the research i have sen suggests a DECREASE in the uptake of oestrogen which is why it would muck up your HRT absorbtion I guess.

I walk dogs for 90+ minutes a day, (dogwalker!) Bella & it does lift the mood but god knows what I'd be like without it.

Would like to come off my anti-d's but need to get these bastid hormones (or lack off) sorted first. Grin

ADs are not the first line of therapy for menopausal women, despite lazy GPs dishing them out like sweeties.

What women need is oestrogen, not ADs- there is a huge amount on this on the website of Prof Studd- take a look.

I couldn't take it if it decreases the estrogen, I'm already struggling  with the hrt I'm on. I need all I can get Grin

@Jadeloz72 This is a 6 yr old zombie thread. Maybe start your own and give it a new subject line so people can help you? My advice is you need to maybe try other types of HRT first or try Femoston for longer. SJW is purely for mood/ dperession- is they why you are on HRT?
