i'm moving to 3 miles outside of Bath in the next few months and am just wondering whether anyone knows of any mother and baby groups of any description - baby massage, baby yoga, chatty kinda groups anything!. mine is due end of March, and it's my first. i'm worried that i will be a bit lost moving to a new area and would love to have some info before all the big changes!!!!!!

I recently moved away from Bath, but there are lots of mother and baby activities there. My health visitor was really good source of info (had lots of leaflets in her briefcase) and I think the midwives are also pretty clued up. There are lots of classes and groups - baby massage, baby swimming, Jo Jingles baby singingin, baby signing etc etc. The classes all follow the school term times, so you'd probably be looking at something starting in May-ish. The central library in the Podium has a good noticeboard and leaflets - I found the 'Whats on in Bath' and 'Bath Life (childrens section)' quite good for ideas. HTH!!

Hi Sweeney,

I'm from Bath and it is a great place. I'm really jealous and would love to still be there. I'm afraid I didn't join any baby groups so I'm totally unhelpful on that point but just wanted to let you know I hope you will like it in Bath too. I moved away only because I met a gorgeous Scotsman

We used to live in Bath with DD1 but moved about 15 miles away. It was great living there, plenty to do, but awful for carparking!!!

Have you contacted the NCT? There's an active group in Bradford on Avon that I know of. I don't go because I work on the days they meet but try the main website to start with.

I seem to remember there was a baby cafe in Odd Down which was very popular.
The NCT did talks and meeting at the big church on Manvers St.
There's soft play in the sports centre.
Most of the churches seemed to have M&T groups.

Keep an eye out on here for meetups!!

Hi everyone,

There is a baby cafe in town which meets on a friday lunchtime that I go to most weeks. You could look at www.bathbirth.co.uk

Hope this helps!
