Moving towards Keto-small changes

Hi all, for the last
Three weeks I've been making small changes, moving towards being keto. For me, they've been large changes, but I've had no weight loss as yet. What should be my next move? I'm not in a place where I can do counting/measuring, so am just at the eliminating and substitution things stage. Typical day is..
Breakfast-coffee, milk. Keri pancakes, full fat Greek yogi, sugar free syrup, chopped fruit.

Lunch-tossed salad, bacon, ham, chorizo, pizza express salad dressing. Small banana

Tea-meat/fish in spices and salad/veg.

Perhaps a glass of wine, or another coffee. I drink about 2 pints of sparkling water a day and a cup of tea or two during the day, with milk.

I don't t eat cheese, eggs, avocados. Even this has been a huge change as I loved bread, cereal, potatoes and rice, but I need to lose about 3 stones for my health. I've definitely not had the need to snack between meals, which has been fab. Am I being a bit unrealistic with this? I don't know what to do next.

Keto pancakes are made with almond flour and cream cheese.

The fruit, drop the fruit from breakfast and the banana from lunch - bananas are one of the highest sugar fruits. The breakfast in general is probably a lot more carbs than you realise too. Are you tracking in Cronometer or something else detailed?

And 2 pints of water is nowhere near enough. Works on doubling that, and then doubling again. If the fizz is making you feel too full for more water switch to still

No, I said I'm not tracking anything just yet. I'm trying to get a handle on it and make small changes. I could drop the fruit no problem. That may just be more of a habit.

I dont think you can move towards keto
You just do it or dont. Ie lower carbs radically. So definitely no fruit. After youre in keto you can try moving towards a low carb diet. Reintroducing more carbs. Maybe what you mean is moving to a lower carb diet. Which is fine for maintaining but may not help much with cravings or weightloss.

I lost 9lbs in the first week (obviously mostly water) but reached a stone in a month. As PP said you have to go Keto to lose weight, in my case that's 20g of carbs which is nothing! You can't do fruit, roots vegetables, pasta, rice, bread etc. It is restrictive but worth it!

It's fine to make small changes and not track carbs, but you will get much slower weight loss that way. You would probably be better off weighing yourself much less often, maybe monthly if you want to do this slowly.

Cut the fruit - a small handful of berries is fine (I have some most days) but in the beginning cut it right out. And I would suggest taking out the sugar free syrups - train your body not to want anything sweet at all. It’s tough but totally worth it.

Swap the milk in your coffee for cream, it’s delicious and feels like a treat and is a great way to increase your fat.

I think its going to be really slow going trying to find carb substitutes. You really need to just drop carbs. I know almond flour pancakes are technically low carb etc but that's a huge amount for breakfast and fruit is just sugar in another form. Protein will fill you up far more. Could you not have a 2 egg omelette with cheese or just 2 boiled eggs? Dipped in mayo if you prefer. With a black coffee (milk has more sugar than cream). Once you have become used to it you'll lose your taste for sweet things.

I would say based on what you’ve listed that your carbs will be too high for keto (mainly because of the fruit, milk, yoghurt and dressing, but vegetables have carbs too, some more than others). Have you looked at the Blood Sugar Diet? That is not strict keto but is low carb (with a focus on “good” carbs) and allows e.g. Greek yoghurt in moderation. It may be more flexible if you find keto too limiting.

Do you not like cheese eggs or avocado? If not try to fill up on no carb food, which is basically meat. At least just until you have stopped craving carby food. Try that for a month.

Olives and nuts are low carb. Cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, mushrooms , lettuce are all low in carbs.

Google Keto bullet proof coffee. I make it with butter, coconut oil and cream. It’s delicious and makes me feel full for ages.

I'm not sure sugar free syrup is going to help either?
