Hi - I need some help, I think. Or maybe just encouragement.
I've been doing the low-carb low-calorie eating plan (8 Week Blood Sugar Diet) for a few weeks now, and it was going well to start with, but seems to have ground to a halt. In fact, since Friday I've actually PUT ON 2lbs, which is bloody frustrating. I have lost just over a stone, but have about three more to lose, so I'm not approaching that last few pounds that are hard to shift.
I have the same breakfast every day - 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of low-carb Livlife toast (3.5g carb), which keeps me going (and keeps my blood sugar level) till my early evening meal of, for example, chicken breast with salad or vegetables (about 10-15g carbs). Total calories are about 800 a day.
I walk my dogs daily, averaging about an hour and a half a day at a good brisk pace, so get a reasonable amount of exercise, I'd say.
I don't drink alcohol, record everything on MyFitnessPal, and monitor my blood sugar regularly (I'm type 1 diabetic, so this is important).
I know low-carb works, as I've done it before with good results, but this time I feel like I'm struggling. My weight just doesn't seem to be shifting, and after a plateau, it's even started to go up. God knows how! And the amount of insulin I'm needing isn't seeming to reduce like I remember it did the last time. I do have an appointment with my diabetes specialist, but not for a few weeks, and I'd really like to feel I could make a bit more progress before I see him.
I get so bloody frustrated, and when people smugly assert "eat less, move more works every time" I really want to shout that no, it doesn't.
Anybody have any ideas/comments/words of wisdom please?
