Have NOT lost a pound! Really upset. Please help.
As from 1/1/16 i have cut out all junk food ie choc/cakes etc
I have been going on 2.5 mile power walks every night after work and longer at weekends.
Example
Breakfast - porridge with soya milk
Lunch - salad, boild egg, half avocado
Snacks - blueberries and around 10 raw cashews
Dinner - chicken, brocolli, steamed mushrooms

Alternatively, salmon, poached eggs, steak. All with green veg or salmon

I am still bang on 10 stone and the above is amazing to what i used to eat. What has gone wrong ?

Are you drinking enough water?

Are you consuming enough fat? For example, why are you having steamed mushrooms rather than pan fried in coconut oil?

Well done on cutting out the crap. Sometimes the body just needs a while to adjust. On the whole your examples look great. Are you drinking alcohol?

I dont drink alcohol. I thought no fat! I dont drink much water at all.

I just dont know why i have not lost anything. Should i have more fat?

I don't actually believe low carb works for everyone. I did it it last year. I got the science and threw myself into it and gained weight. I had no sugar for 4 months.
Then I joined weight watchers and it's working .
But hopefully this is just a blip and it will drop off you soon.

More fat for energy. Lots and lots of water. The canderel causes insulin spikes like sugar - can you ditch it? Porridge is also not low carb...

So for example today I've had:
Early (5.30!) Breakfast 2 eggs scrambled in plenty of butter,
Mid morning full fat Greek yoghurt,
Lunch chicken leg with full fat Mayo, lettuce, avocado and cucumber
Dinner salmon fillets grilled with butter, buttery leeks and broccoli.
Drinks - lots of water, 2 X coffee with double cream.

You might enjoy BIWI's bootcamp which has literally restarted this week. Strict rules but it works! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/low_carb_bootcamp/2551176-Week-1-2016-New-Year-Low-Carb-Bootcamp-weigh-in-here
You are not eating enough - you must have fat.

If you're doing a lot of exercise you actually need the carbs! But they should be eaten in moderation with lots of protein and fibre. You may also be replacing fat with muscle so whilst not losing any weight - you will have toned up!

Did you mean to post in the low carb section, or was this a question about weight loss in general?

The reason I ask is being porridge isn't low carb (quite the opposite!) and - as people have pointed out - you're supposed to eat lots of fat when low carbing. You should definitely take a look at the Bootcamp threads Smile

Pseudo - Thank you. I will look at the bootcamp
Vague - I posted here to see where i was going wrong at what advice i could get. I was told porridge was fine. I will have to change that now.
Was not sure where to post.

Have a look at this: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Vwh_9-y9ejMjg_sFMCK38uoPqZZFps39T7RY-VdUaI8/htmlview?pli=1#gid=0

Lots of information in each tab - bootcamp rules, etc.

I am the same and going to ditch the diet and go with WW. My friend (who started at the same weight as me) has lost 9lbs in 2 weeks on WW and I have lost a grand total of 1.5 lbs in nearly three weeks of low carbing. I am in ketosis, drinking the water and playing by the rules but completely and utterly fed up with it. ENOUGH!!!

What diet are you actually trying to do?
Low calorie - you may be ok, can't tell without knowing the portion sizes
Low carb - you're completely missing the point with porridge and low fat
You may need a bit more research!

I can really recommend Whole30.

Might be worth a look? Not as strict as bootcamp in some ways - you can have fruit and carb rich veg such as sweet potato / butternut squash, but in other ways it is stricter - no dairy, no alcohol. Both have no grains.

I lost 8 kg in my first 30 days, asthma disappeared, and joint pain improved massively. 4 months on I have lost 16kg in total (2 1/2 stone).
