Low-carb bootcamp

I was doing well and now I am full of self loathing

Been doing low carb for a few weeks now and haven't so much as looked at rice / bread / pasta / potato etc.

Forgot my lunch today and its absolutely pissing down outside so I had to buy something from our staff canteen. Not ONE item of food was carb free.

So in a moment of hungry insanity I ate a tuna melt panini.

I feel sick and want to just give it up. I don't think I will ever succeed in losing weight.

Someone give me a kick up the arse.

Hoping someone comes along and tells me it's okay to have a fail and I should stick with it!

Shall I just carry on with the low carb/high fat from now?

What sort of physical effect will this have on my body - I feel like I have actually put on 3lb in 10 mins. So bloated and disgusting.

Plus I am on my period. Ugh.

Stop beating yourself up! It’s low carb, not no carb. Lots of things you are eating still have some carb content (veg etc).

Ok so you used up a bit more than your carb allowance today, no big deal. You can still balance it out over the week.

Don’t give up!

Don't beat yourself up its one meal. Just get back on track this evening with maybe a lovely chicken salad or an omelette. Drink loads of water and try not to let it derail you. That's pretty good going considering you're on your period x

Thanks both.

I am trying not to hate on myself and feel a failure.

Last week I failed on booze, spent a large part of the week glugging prosecco (we had a big thing to celebrate and did so with seperate sets of friends over a few days)

My weight is going up and down like a yo yo.

I will get back on track immediately - I WILL NOT just go on a carb binge

Oh and the week before - just remembered - I ate pizza with the kids - there were literally no other options available

Feels like every week I fail with something or other. The first 2 weeks were great - I lost 10lb. Then week after week I put half it back on, then lose 2lb then gain 3lb etc etc

Sigh

Come and join us on the "Final Weigh In" Boot Camp thread, which acts as a "Between Boot Camps" support thread Smile

Flowers to you. You've not been doing HFLC for long, so it makes it harder to miss meals if you forget your packed meal (once you are more keto adapted, it's easier to do intermittent fasting). Just shake yourself down, drink plenty of water and KOKO.

Are you having enough fat? That helps keep you satiated.

Oh - and weeks 3 and 4 are often "stall" weeks Shock

.....although that's not an excuse to break the Rules Wink - it's more an incentive to keep to them more strictly Grin

Thanks prettybird.

I wasnt sure about joining the bootcamp thread because its been going so long and I wasn't sure I could join at this point.

Last night I made a chicken bone broth and thats all I had.

Today I had 2 boiled eggs and I have chicken mayo with avocado for lunch. Dinner yet to be decided.

I went into a panic yesterday but I am back on track now. Thanks for helping me through! Will find the other thread.

There are a few people who only joined towards the end, so you wouldn't be alone Smile

Iirc, there was recently someone who's complained about stalling/gaining weight and it was pointed out that they were in the dreaded Weeks 3 & 4 where stalling/gaining weight is common Smile @StuntNun even explained why it happens.

Given that today's news is that low carb diets can shorten your life expectancy, that panini may have bought you an extra day! Grin

Hard when you're focused and then circumstances knock you off course a bit, but onwards and upwards. x

Okay it probably wasn’t the best food choice you could have made but on the other hand you had to eat something! But you’re only one meal away from eating well again. Your weight will probably increase by a pound or two tomorrow due to refilling glycogen and associated water weight but it will come off again quickly. If you’re feeling bloated then next time you get tempted by carbs remember that feeling.
