Low-carb bootcamp

Low carb novice help! How does it work?

Hey! I'm interested in low carb, is there one particular thread for low carbers? Or a place where I can find guidelines (carb contents of foods) and advice?

And how do I know whether low carbing is right for me? I'm a 30 year old mum of 3, have never been on a diet really and have been between 56-60kg most of my adult life (I'm 172cm/5"8). HOWEVER after number 3 (10 months ago) I'm now about a stone heavier. I'd like to fit into my old clothes!

My downfalls currently are wine, pastry, toast with loads of butter and also cheese. I also have a real sweet tooth since the last baby (cake, ice cream) which I've never had before. Oh and pizza!

Is low carbing easy?! I don't have the time to log every morsel I eat!

Can you eat carbs sometimes or never at all?

Thanks in advance!

The bootcamp threads are where it's at. We're just finishing one tomorrow but will be chatting on for the foreseeable. On the first page BIWI has linked a spreadsheet that has a list of all the rules, tips and carb counts of veggies etc. There's also a recipe thread and people will usually answer questions etc.

You'll be able to enjoy cheese and butter aplenty!! We do have carbs but only in veg and a bit in dairy, so NO pasta/bread/rice and no sugary stuff either.

The first week or so are tough but after that it's easier than other diets because you just don't get as hungry.
