Hi there,

Have you used a contact centre?

How did you find the whole experience and more importantly ' how did your children cope with it?'

My DS is 9 months and never met his father. It looks like the only way his father will be involved is if we use a contact centre (his wife has trust issues....whole other thread )

I'm worried about him being handed over to a strange member of staff and then this 'daddy' who he has never met before.

I/We used a contact centre about 10mths ago for 5-6 mths. DD was 2.5yo at the time & DS 1yo.

I could've stayed and sat with x and the kids, but I felt comfortable, and so did the kids ( they were both happily playing with the toys) so I left and had a 'break' for two hours.

I am now at ease with x and he comes to my house to see the kids, he doesn't take them out on his own though and I very much doubt he ever will.

older children so different...has your son been baby sat by anyone before? looked after by others?

speak to contact centre - you might be able to stay in room as well initially then gradually build up.

He's never really been with anyone other then when I went to a funeral. He is pretty clingy and I don't think he'd cope well.

They have stated that they do not want me in the building at all. I'm keen to get contact sorted but not if it's so upsetting for ds.

Just wondering if anyone else had been through this and their baby was ok with it all?
