Most social areas of London?

I don't have any friends in London and of course with a small child my socialising options are limited (even outside of a pandemic).

Are there any non-gritty areas around W or SW London that are, for want of a better word, "friendlier" for a single mum who's new in town? I had a visit to Chiswick/Turnham green area and adored the look and feel of it, but it seemed to be all married sahm's and elderly couples. If I was married myself that wouldn't be an issue at all, I just know from experience that very coupled up areas are extremely isolating for someone like me... perhaps a place exists full of the young brand new parents or older end of young professionals who happen to find little kids cute?! Or even an area that's predominantly expat young mums, as I they're keen to make friends too?

I would try south east London rather than west if you’re looking for welcoming and friendly for young families!

Got to disagree with south east London personally, I don’t find it friendly at all (I live here) and can’t wait to move, also not nice place to bring up kids!

It depends on your budget I guess but I live in SE London and there are lots of young families and a welcoming atmosphere. We have some single mums in our social circle, it's also not very constrained in terms of wealth/class really.

@Happycat1212 depends where you’re talking about really. Areas like East Dulwich, Forest Hill etc are lovely, full of young families and great schools.

That’s what I realised after posting, depends where as south east London is big and I’m in probably the roughest part, I can’t say it’s friendly at all so would depend on where. So just avoid the rough parts of SE London!
