Husband still here currently. Ds1 poorly, I've been upstairs with him from 8-10.15 before he went to sleep. H downstairs and gave baby a bottle and got to sleep. Ds1 cried quite a bit and had to be cuddled to sleep.

Really hoping he doesn't wake in the night, baby is bf apart from that one bottle. Just wondering how I'd have managed the pair of them on my own? I suppose I Would have managed but finding the thought a bit scary.....

As you say, you would have managed because you would have had to.

You would have taken the baby up and all snuggled up together, fed the baby while snuggling DS1.

They're close in age, so before long you'll have them in the same routine and can do bath, PJ's, milk and story together and both to bed at the same time.

Thanks. Tonight he walked out, so we did manage. Ds1 is not quite asleep yet but I fed the baby and bounced him to sleep as ds1 played in the bath. Unfortunately husband has returned and took baby downstairs (I'd left baby in my room) so I can't claim to have done the full thing alone, but it was OK.
