feeling lost pre-empty nest

This time last year I took my eldest to University about 4 hours drive from home. This year my youngest goes off to Sixth form, and he's taking the bus.

So, for the first time for about 14 years I won't be doing a school run - which means none of those little chats and I'll miss them so much.

I've brought up my DSs for the past 11 years and now I feel lost, bereft even.

Pre-empty nest I have in bucket loads and I have no idea how to cope.

I know the feeling I have two going off to uni for the first time, my eldest will be over 1000km away and my dd will be 600 km away and the sea is inbetween us ! I have my youngest who will be at home but only for the next two years. My plan is to keep busy. I will do all the things I have been putting off for the last year. I am going to do another pilates class and a yoga class. I work part time so I reckon that will be enough. If you are sahm would you consider finding a part time job? or doing some volontary work ? Maybe you could enrol in a college course, learn a new skill or join an exercise class ? Try and view this a positive move rather than a negative one.

Thanks homeaway but I have a very demanding full-time job but should try to find time for an evening class.

Good luck to you with your children going so far off.
