Lockdown learning

Bragging on behalf of my DH!

There's a lot of teacher bashing going on recently. Like any profession there will be some goods ones and some bad ones.

My DH is a secondary school teacher. The 'banter' comments from his own friends about what an easy job it is/all the holidays/ remote teaching being easy etc he laughs off but it does get him down.

He works really hard. He's doing live lessons via teams 3 days a week and he's going in and teaching key worker kids 2 days a week. Last weekend he spent 6 hours on Saturday and 3 hours on Sunday marking work and planning his interactive live teams lessons.

So here's the brag...
In the last 2 weeks he's been forwarded 2 emails that parents sent to the school, parents who had taken a few minutes to write and say thank you for setting great work and thank you for taking time to mark it and give good constructive feedback to each child. These emails really gave him a pick me up.

If you do have good teachers, a quick email of appreciation means the world.

Yes it's their job.. blah blah blah... but a bit of recognition for a job well done can be such a lovely thing

Love this post. You must be so proud of your husband.
It made me want to write to school to thank my kids' teachers, who are also going above and beyond.

Thank you and so happy for you!!

I've been listening in on DDs lessons and my god those teachers are giving it all they have got. I understand the work that goes into each and every lesson and it's also made me realise my DD doesn't answer enough questions. It's so hard if they are teaching into the void. I think if anyone deserves a big clap it's teachers at the moment.

My dc's teachers are fantastic. I'll email and thank them.

And all the teachers on MN, thank you for all your hard work.

Aww thanks for the nice comments. He's been working all day today too. I just made the mistake of reading comments on the daily Mail site .. article on changing term times, so many people calling teachers lazy, it's so frustrating.
