There's a lot of teacher bashing going on recently. Like any profession there will be some goods ones and some bad ones.
My DH is a secondary school teacher. The 'banter' comments from his own friends about what an easy job it is/all the holidays/ remote teaching being easy etc he laughs off but it does get him down.
He works really hard. He's doing live lessons via teams 3 days a week and he's going in and teaching key worker kids 2 days a week. Last weekend he spent 6 hours on Saturday and 3 hours on Sunday marking work and planning his interactive live teams lessons.
So here's the brag...
In the last 2 weeks he's been forwarded 2 emails that parents sent to the school, parents who had taken a few minutes to write and say thank you for setting great work and thank you for taking time to mark it and give good constructive feedback to each child. These emails really gave him a pick me up.
If you do have good teachers, a quick email of appreciation means the world.
Yes it's their job.. blah blah blah... but a bit of recognition for a job well done can be such a lovely thing
