I don't have any experience with the speech unit so hopefully someone else can help with that.

But the RG21 postcode is right in the centre and you wouldn't need a car to get to lots of places, I hardly take mine out. A couple of nice parks, library in the town centre, good council run sports centre (not that expensive compared to private ones).

RG21 covers lots of types of housing, nothing really grimy though, some roads are very nice others are less glamorous, but no where I would go out of my way to avoid.

Basingstoke is nice, good motorway connection, not far from london for a day out or the south coast. It's not too hard to get to the Isle of Wight on the train in the summer either.

know that you often get better advice from someone that knows the area

Thats what wanted to hear , just hope she like`s mine now. Then will have to come down for a weekend and look about.Like the idea of not needing a car as well to since am still learning to drive only been 18 years .

One more thing are the buses the low kind that easy to get a wheelchair on ?

I'm not sure about the buses. But I think there might be some with the low steps. I'll keep my eyes open for them .

eastrop park, 5 min walk from Festival Place lovely in summer although a PITA if you have young children off reins who might jump in the water, mind you it's only about 1ft deep

war memorial park, other end of town but again only a 5 min walk from the centre, loads of well maintained green space as it's next to the council offices and police station

Large morrisons 10 min walk from town, medium size sainsburys and tesco metro in town centre too.

Hi, my parents live in rg21, i lived there til i was 21yrs. Never had any problems. South view school has a language unit, you have to be referred to it, my son was meant to go but suddenly started talking for England and hasnt stopped since.
Are you exchanging with a housing association? Where my parents are they are mainly 3 bedroomed, few four bedrooms. Do you have an exact area in mind?

hi and thank you

yes silvester close they back onto playing fields its a exchange but since has a dining room am hoping to convert to 4th bedroom. And yes its housing asspociation.

I spoken to the unit already there not sure if they will take ds as hes severe but then i know of a very good school just into Surrey that will and he be transfering with a statement to

I am likinmg idea of having things nearer for the dc to do and especially for ds3 as it will become important for his independence as he grows up and stop my older 2 going mum can you take me ....

Yay for the buses here there not wheelchair friendly at all

Do you know anything about the schools at all be looking primary and for secondry

Silvester close is in oakridge, Im really sorry but i would be hesitant to move there, its not a great area, maybe some one would tell you different but it was a big no no for me when i was house hunting. Obviously its up to you and i may be wrong but i wouldnt move, especially with teenagers. I hate saying that but id hate you to regret it.
