New to Mumsnet and Crouch End

I am new to Mumsnet and we just moved from Austria London/Crouch End. I have got a 13weeks old son and we are looking for things to do in the area (we are living close to Priory Park) and other mums and babys to meet, as we don't know anybody in this area. On Wednesdays we go to a baby yoga class at the haringey community centre that I can realy recommend.

If anybody knows any toddler/playing groups or any mums who like to meet for a coffee I would be very grateful.

Welcome to Crouch End!

I wonder if you would like the exercise class at the Hornsey Vale community centre on Mayfield Road at 1pm on a Thursday. Not far from Priory Park.

You can take your son and he can play at the side of the room (toys and mats provided), while you exercise. It is normally very friendly, and the instructor (Kit)'s mother-in-law is usually there and helps to entertain the babies! It is £5 I think.

If you are interested in baby massage you can also do that at the same centre.

There are also a few mothers knocking around who speak German, do you speak German?

You could see if Hornsey Children's Library has any information on local groups, and if there's a group at Stonecroft Children's Centre.

It's not in Crouch End but perhaps a 20 minute walk from Priory Park or a very short bus ride, there's a Monday afternoon group called Jolly Babies at the Burghley Road Under 5s Centre, there's one room for babies and their parents and another for older babies/toddlers (the dividing line is about a year but it's as much about mobility as age).

I'm back at work at the moment but will be off with my 2nd baby due at the end of January, so may get a chance to meet you in a few months.

Many thanks for the tips and I just recognized that I am doing the Yoga course at the Hornsey Vale community centre and not at Haringey Community centre. I do always mix things up....

and yes I do speak German, actually I grew up in Germany.
