Hi,

I've just moved to Farnborough and would really like to meet some local mums, especially with babies around the same age as my 6-month old daughter.

Also, can anyone recommend any parenting groups i could go to? I've been to the Rhymetime at the Library, but any other suggestions would be great!

Thanks for your help - it's quite lonely when you're new!

Kate

Hi Kate,

Sorry don't live in Farnborough, a bit further over towards Farnham. No Clue about parenting groups, esp as mine haven't arrived yet - expecting twins in January.

Hope some of the others can help you out abit more!

Maybe the people who organise NCT classes could help?!

Best of Luck, Sophia

Hiya I have just had the NCT bumps and babes email thru, it's for Aldershot/Farnham area but that's just down the road. You don't need to be a member to attend.

Are you expecting a baby?
Or do you have a baby under 12 months, who isn?t too mobile yet?

If yes, then these events are especially for you. Informal coffee mornings /tea afternoons held in the homes of local mothers with young babies.

Please call the host in advance to confirm the arrangements.

Some of the sessions have speakers to tell you about various activities suitable for you and your baby. They do not take up the whole session and they make a donation to branch funds for this opportunity.

NEW IDEA ? ?Talk and Walk?

The idea of these sessions is that you get together with other new parents in a local park and walk for an hour. Come with your bump or baby/toddler in a pushchair. All walks will be suitable for pushchairs, and yet strenuous enough to feel you?ve had some exercise.

The walk is organised for you, and you?ll get to meet other new mums to chat about what new mums chat about! I?ll be facilitating these sessions; organising the route, talking to you all and pointing you in the right directions for further information should you need it.

What more could you want, some company and exercise, all planned for you.

Come and try

Recommended £3 donation to NCT to cover specialist worker fees.

Hi, I have a Little Feet around Fleet book that covers all the local areas inc Farnborough. They were being sold at Fleet Library for about a £5 but it was a while ago. If they don't sell them anymore let me know and you can borrow my copy! Its great, lists all the parks, child friendly restaurants, toddler groups and has comments from Mums plus much more.

Thanks everyone. I'll see what my library has to offer in terms of a 'little feet' equivalent and will shout if i need yours, buzzyvee.
