As a teacher at Coombe I can confirm there is a mass exodus of teachers leaving. If you have a strong willed / sensible child they will do well, there are lots of excellent and deeply caring teachers at the school, and some lovely students. Many students get led astray, they don't respect teachers and I have seen nice girls turn nasty, they are not set for the majority of subjects so spend a lot of time as one teaching group between years 7-9 so there is a big sense on entitlement from some students, largely because they don't like the school, it has very short lunchtimes too. Teachers have to organise, record and set their own detentions with students, which means they don't always get followed up. The good thing about Coombe as a parent is that the SLT will put parents needs above staff ones. But if you are someone who would rather just be able to leave their daughter to it, it might nit be the best school for them.
