Moving to East Sussex, where should I live?

Hello, I'm looking to move from London to be near Mayfield School in East Sussex with my young family (11, 8 and 3-year-old children). We are considering Wadhurst, Mayfield, Burwash or somewhere like Langton Green/Rusthall (OK, I know that's Kent!). We want somewhere with a friendly community and where it is welcoming for young families. Any advice on where might be best? we need a nice state primary school for the younger kids and were wondering about the Wadhurst primary schools? Burwash primary school sounds lovely.
