School Travel - North Leeds to Heckmondwike Grammar School

We have just secured a place at Heckmondwike Grammar School, but we live in North Leeds. Our plan was to use the new private bus service advertised on the school website...

I have just been informed that all bus places have been filled. I understand there is another similar private bus running but can't find the details - can anyone help me with this?

Worst-case I may have to just drive or arrange my own taxi/mini bus - so if your in the same position please do let me know.

I don't know about the bus service but my nephew used to attend this school from Leeds, and got the train from leeds towards Manchester airport, then walked from the station to Halifax road and caught the 268 bus towards Bradford city centre, got off at the high street and was around a 2 minute walk from school. I think it took him around 50 mins each way from memory

Thanks for the reply. Never even thought about looking at the train so thanks for that - train journey is pretty quick.

It might be worth posting on the facebook group for the school asking for help as I assume the parents are running the service themselves?

As we've not started the school yet, and don't know anyone already there, so I'm not in the know of school Facebook groups, Parents "networks" etc - but another great idea - thanks I will search and post on FB.

I have also emailed the school to hopefully they may provide some pointers.
