DH and I are thinking of moving to Bourn with infant DD. Wondering about experiences of people living there or nearby? Any views on Bourn Primary? Also - commute into London? Thanks

Hi
I live in Bourn and love it. My DC are older now but they went to the village school and then to Comberton VC.

It's a great village with a really good community feel. The commute to London is straightforward from St Neots or Royston. It's also easy to get into Cambridge as long as it's not in rush hour!

If you want to PM me for more info then please feel free.

It’s a really lovely village. Has a nice tea room, Indian restaurant and a local shop and is catchment for a very good primary and secondary school (two of the best schools in Cambridgeshire in my personal opinion). Very pretty place to live too. 20 minute drive to Cambridge with no traffic.

As per previous poster, best stations to commute to London are St Neots or Royston but you would have to drive to both and they are about 15/20 minutes away.

Thanks so much for info. My DD is still under two - I had a look at Little Hands but see it is from two upwards. Would people normally take infants to Royston for nursery?

There are day nurseries around. There's one in Cambourne which is just up the road. There's also some good childminders around. As mine are older I'm afraid I dont know much about preschool provision. It might be worth joining the Bourn Neighbourhood Watch and Info FaceBook page and asking on there as that is where quite a lot of village information is shared.

My DS goes to nursery in nearby (within 10 min drive) Great Gransden which is lovely. It's called Greenfields Day Nursery, no website but they're happy to show you round if you ring. They take them from babies.

The area is a great place to live. I work in Cambourne and my DH in London, we live in St Neots and he finds the commute easily manageable. Feel free to pm with any questions 😊

There's also a nice Montessori nursery in Comberton (about 10 minutes drive away).

Bourn is lovely, if you can find somewhere there then definitely go for it!

Another nursery to look at is Children’s Ark in Papworth Everard. I’ve heard lots of good things about the Great Gransden nursery too. Can recommend a great childminder in Bourn too so if you’re looking for one in the future feel free to pm me.

@Scoops2021. you might get more response if you join the Bourn village FB page. There's quite a lot of school parents on that
