Another Holgate Question please

Hi, am looking at moving from London to York and have found a house I like just off Holgate Road near the fork with Poppleton Road, so about 15-20 mins to Blossom Street.

I like the house but have a sneaking suspicion this area might be a bit rough at night and one of the key reasons for moving is to avoid the escalating London street crime. I'm planning on walking everywhere so this is a deciding factor for me.

Does anyone know that area of York and could comment?
