How's the Southfleet area in Orpington?

Hi, we are looking to move to Orpington and one of the properties we looked at is in the Southfleet area. It is close to quite a few schools. However, it looks like the houses here are priced lower than other streets in Orpington. Any suggestions on why this might be? Is this a safe street to live in? Thanks.

I don’t know the area despite living only a few miles away. In Orpington houses further from the station are generally cheaper, also cheaper are the 60s style, more on an aesthetics and build quality basis. The gardens are also often tiny and overlooked compared to the 1930s neighbouring areas. If you don’t need to commute or don’t mind a bus journey on top of your rail journey it may be a good compromise if you can’t afford the areas closer to the station.

Also for secondary be careful how far you are away. The Darrick catchment has been shrinking. New builds near the school at the Basset site are only going to make it worse.
