Who fancies meeting up for coffee somewhere?

Sounds like a good idea - altho I'm a newbie as my dd is only 11 weeks old, so being in a coffee shop would be a bit weird...

I'm in East Oxford near St Clements - any ideas on coffee shops that are ok with breastfeeding?

btw - just spotted your name on the highly amusing bottom thread - a conversation which brightened my weekend

Hi Liska

Sorry I'm in North Oxfordshire so don't know East Oxford too well but if you call your HV they normally have a list.

Personally I whop them out and feed wherever, if DD needs feeling, she needs feeding. She doesn't feel embarrassed so why should I?!

Goodness me Stargazing - please do tell me how you managed to get pregnant so quickly! I'm trying to and DD is eight and a half months already!

Would you like me to CAT you so you have my email address - when you move down, I'll meet you for a coffee so at least you have one friendly face.

Are you the lady moving to Headington btw?

Hi

I live just outside Oxford but DH works in Oxford so I occasionally come in for the day with him and the DD and DS. he goes off to work we do coffee etc all day.

Would love to meet up for coffee. Not sure of really near St Clements but don't mind where as can get to most places. Especially now they will all be non smoking.

If weather is nice then botanical gardens are quite nice for a wander round. I think you can do own drinks and have a sit down there.

Sorry a bit slow off the mark but that sounds good! (whomoved - would love to see your dd eating - we had our first public blw session in Moma cafe this week - as you say, very messy!)

Liska - as far as bf friendly coffee shops in East Oxford go - the Magic cafe on Magdalene Rd is good but I have to say I'm with whomovedmychocolate on the just whopping them out now - think it's far preferable to an unhappy baby. Cafe Coco on Cowley Road seems ok too.

Cafe Coco is fine for bfing - they are hippies in there and is only a stones throw from st clements.

'tis very nice too!

Oooh I've never been to the botanical gardens, that sound lovely. Anyone else think that sounds like a plan (actually I may nick the plan for my mum and tot group - we are on tour over the summer as our numbers drop).

Blimey, only just got back to this thread so I maybe too late - pleased to say that the intervening weeks have left me happy to whop them out whenever wherever as well:-)

Botanical Gardens are lovely - let me know if meeting going ahead (CAT). Have now discovered Magic Cafe, and am quite taken with the cafe under the church on Radcliffe Square - right in central Oxford. Very right on place with great cake.

Given the flooding, let's wait a week or so and then I'll suggest a date to all of you by CAT.

Hello, we've just moved to Summertown with our 3 girls, 16 months, 4 and 9. I know absolutely no one and am on a mission to stalk anyone lovely with kids. Am I too late to join in and get together with you sometime?

Hi all, I'm near Abingdon, and would love to meet up. Normally at work during the day, but I'm on unpaid leave for all of August, so more chances to meet.

I think Harpsichordcuddler is normally Harpsichordcarrier. Not sure what BBBleedinggumsmurphy is atm - was BBBbishyBarneyBee, but not sure of the spelling.

And thanks for the CAT, whomovedmychocolate. That date looks fine to me. Will have a think about locations (though happy to go with the garden centre you suggested).
