on holiday with 8 year old in Flore child's activities

I am looking after a friend's house in Flore for a week at the beginning of August. My son is a typical social 8 year old, into Minecraft, adventure, mini-beasts. When we have been there in the past he finds it hard as he does not know any other children in the area. He, like most kids just wants to be with other kids. Any suggestions from people in the area? He is an only child. Doesn't necessarily have be eight year olds or boys he has a mixed bunch of friends back in London.
