Schools for Southfields grid

Hi, I would be glad of insights into what people living on the grid in Southfields do for school if they don't get into Wimbledon Park (our closes possibility), albemarle, Sheringdale, or Riversdale? The property we are looking at seems to leave us in a bit of a tricky spot for schools. Church going is fine but the two church schools nearby (St michaels & Bishop gilpin) are outstanding and .8 of a mile so I worry we wouldn't get in there either. Any advice from Southfielders in the know?

Hi, it really depends where you live on the grid but most likely it would be Riversdale or Sheringdale. Albemale is much further and you have little chance with the church schools unless you've been a regular church goer.

Riversdale used to have a mixed reputation but I hear nothing but good things now.

Southfields grid is a fab place. Good luck with your purchase!

Also, there are a few families with kids at private schools. Roche School, Prospect House, Wimbledon High and the Study are examples.

Thanks for responding Muffydoon. The house isn't actually in catchment for any of those options listed - albemarle, riversdale or sheringdale and private isn't an option.

Interested whether anyone else has had this experience of being out of catchment for schools local to the grid and where they ended up being allocated places?

Whereabouts is the property on the Grid? I’d be very surprised if you didn’t end up with a place at any of those listed schools.

Sadly not. Not in catchment for the 10 closest schools in 2017. Curious what others do but maybe indeed everyone has the £££ to do private
