Opinions on South Park area of Reigate

We are planning to move to the South Park area of Reigate, just off Park Lane East. We are moving from Hertfordshire so don't really know the area at all. Fell in love with the house but would really appreciate an insight to the area. Is it nice/safe? A good place to bring up a family?
