Getting to Fairfield High School?

I live around St George and am considering Fairfield High School as our secondary school option. However, I'm struggling on good public transport options. Does anyone have any experience; especially of the Wessex bus (just become Community Transport Plus) bus from Whitehall?
I'm just not sure if it's reliable enough to base such a big decision on.

not reliable bus service at all and they are never understanding about being even a few minutes late to school due to buses!
