Primary schools West Wickham

We've recently moved into WW and have a daughter who needs a Year 2 primary school place. Our nearest schools are Hawes Down, Oak lodge and pickhurst (in that order). Which school would you say is both nurturing yet academic, diverse and supportive in terms of the types of kids and parents that attend? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. We will visit the schools in September and apply after.
Thanks

Just be eternally grateful if you are able to find a place in any of those. They are all good schools as I'm sure you're aware.
Pickhurst likely to be more diverse purely based on size. If you wanted really diverse I doubt you'd have moved to WW.

Pickhurst is very close to my house, my next door neighbours couldn't get their child when they moved here ( he was year 2 at the time) we probably live about 0.3 from the school

Thanks for your replies ladies... Out of interest Nancy75 2where did your neighbours child end up going if he couldn't get into his local school (pickhurst) and how long did he have to wait for a place?
Thanks

He got into Highfield (shortlands) they had to wait until October half term. It was quite a surprise that he got Highfield as that is usually very oversubscribed & we would normally be quite far out of the catchment

We have been offered a place at Oak lodge but been speaking to various people who have all put me off! Can anyone with kids there tell me what it's like? Am now wondering whether to keep daughter at current school in Lewisham and wait for a place at HD or Pickhurst. thanks

Our DD goes to HD, Y6 now, and while it has its up and downs like all schools and it is in a bit of chaos due to the merger of the Infant and Junior schools, I def recommend it.

The school supports all children, stretch them as much as they can, offer a lot of activities, some free, some with minimal charges plus a lot of sporty after school clubs by external providers but they keep the same ones for years, so they must be good (DD is highly unsporty so apart from gymnastics she is not joining in).

I heard Oak Lodge improved but I don't know anybody actually being there. There is a fairly active fb group (West Wickham mums), they are maybe able to give more information. It is a closed one but free to join if you live in the area.

I realise this is an old thread but just felt compelled to add, for the record, that Oak Lodge is a lovely school (in my humble opinion at least). Also, noramum is right - West Wickham mums is a good place to ask about that sort of thing.
