Moving to Harrogate

Hi
I am moving to Harrogate with my 4 year old and would love some advice and to meet other mums with children similar age.

Are there any areas to avoid and what meetups, places are recommended to meet other mums? I'm moving from the middle of nowhere in Lincolnshire (originally Icelandic though) so can't wait to get more culture and nice shops again! ;)

Hi Tonia!

I am not in Harrogate itself but not too far away. It's a lovely town though and Yorkshire folk are generally very friendly.

I can recommend Valley Gardens and Newby Hall and Gardens for days out and there will probably be lots of other mums at Valley Gardens.

I have a daughter the same age so it would be lovely to arrange a meet up.

Hopefully some other mums/dads will be along soon too.

Hi tonia!
We live in Harrogate and my son is four going on fourteen and is starting school in September :) he loves making friends and we have plenty of free time now that he's broken up from nursery if you fancied a playdate. We live just up the hill from Valley gardens, there is plenty for kids in and around harrogate it's a great place to raise children xxx

Thanks lovely ladies! Would be lovely to meet up! You had me laughing Franklinsmummy as my son is also 4 going on 14. He has got a place at St.Peters Primary. Is your teenager going there too perhaps? Grin

I will have moved by the 2nd of September so would be lovely to arrange a meet up any time after that. Just let me know what suits, I will be free quite a lot at day time the first weeks in September Smile
