Primary schools near the UofG

I'm moving to Glasgow from the USA with my 9-, 5-, and 3-year-old, and wanted to ask for recommendations about (non-private) primary schools near the UofG besides Hillhead. We need to pick a catchment area in which to rent, but we don't know much about the other primary schools near the University. We'll be in town for only one year, but we'd like our children to have the best school experience possible! Any thoughts about Hyndland?

They're all nice in the West end to be honest. I'd be happy with Hillhead or Hyndland.

Hillhead is massively busy, they sctrewed up planning and had to do away with common areas to form classrooms.....not much outside space....v difficult for drop off and pickup, and finally....g12 raly is student central. despite fancy flatr and soundproofing to match, we had to sell up and leave.

id go for hyndland, progressive, hippyish and most importantly, in a decent area with much more of a family vibe.
