We'd like some advice about moving to York please! We've seen a really nice house in Huntington, but need to know more about the area and schools (Huntington primary academy). Where are the good schools in York in general?

Hi. Not sure about Huntington but most areas in York are lovely with good schools. Clifton with Rawcliffe is a lovely school as is Acomb Primary. There's a great page on Facebook called York Mumbler which you can join and get lots of advice on areas and schools and general things to do with kids in York.

Huntington is a good area - I know more about the secondary school but pretty sure the primary is also good. Huntington itself near Monks Cross shopping centre and the ring road.

What age DC do you have?

Thank you! Helpful info indeed, will checkout York Mumbler. DC are nearly 3 and a half (starting reception in September 2018), and 15 weeks!

Agree with Ilove that York Mumbler is a great way to get info.

Also agree that CwR is a lovely school. (And wondering if I "know" Ilove.)

Poppleton is also a very nice school from what I've seen and the village is lovely. (Although expensive!)

Hi We moved to York from London last year, bought in Huntington. Our 12 year old son ended up in joseph rowntree which is just as good as Huntington School, great facilities. Huntington itself is great, big houses with big gardens (main reason we bought here) but you can be in the countryside witin 5 mins yet town centre is only 15 mins by frequent bus
