Hi everyone,
I live in berkshire and am looking forward to enroll my kid in one of the preparatory schools. Am looking for a school that will help in the overall personality development of the kid in addition to focussing on academics and sports. Also the chances of getting into private or grammer schools for secondary.
From the website of dair house and dolphin, I really couldn't make out which one to go for . I might have to relocate if dolphin is better of but I am happy to do that.
Please could you share your experiences , reviews, suggestions about both the schools? Happy to know about other options too.

You haven't said if your DC are boys or girls? There are A LOT of schools in that area-Dair House is very small with very small class sizes and only goes to age 11.
So you need to think what school they will go to next as if it is a school with a 13 entry they are stranded.

You would be best visiting them as well as others to get a feel for them. The websites will be a sales pitch, promising you a well rounded DC. Why these two school in particular?

Hi, I visited Dolphin last week and I'm impressed with the school however relocation is a big decision. I have a boy who is 3.5 years old. I liked Dair House school in Farnham Royal too however any advice/feedback on the teaching quality, kids overall development etc would be of great help. It will take atleast 45 mins for me to drop the kid to school and back to langley station to catch my train to London on daily basis so no sure if it's worth this hassle. Couldn't think of any other tier2 prep school that is close to railway station.

To me, absolutely no school in the world is worth that kind of journey for a 4 year old's school. Are you against the local state schools? Or other private schools close to you?

Yes the local state schools are not good. There is one prep school called StBernards prep but that's still 20mins away from station (one way).

A friend has a child at Dair House and they are very happy. Trains go to London from Taplow, Burnham and Slough which are nearer if that helps. Think the school has a breakfast club if you need to set of earlier.
