Moving to Knaresborough

Hello Everyone,
We are hopefully moving to the Knaresborough in the near future and are about to start visiting and looking for houses. I don't drive so am reliant on the bus/train to get around. Are there any areas to concentrate on/avoid?
Also are there any fitness groups, yoga etc that might be good to join to get to meet some friendly faces in town as I'm a bit nervous about the big move!
